As a Southern California local I am blessed to say that my backyard is literally paradise and yet there is still so much I haven’t seen! Life gets busy so we decided to take a little staycation out to San Diego for the weekend. We stayed at The Cassara Carlsbad Hotel which is located in the beautiful city of Carlsbad, the hotel itself is within walking distance to LegoLand, near by Carlsbad Premium Outlets, and also many beautiful beaches!

We stayed in The Karlsbad Family Suite it was a spacious 620 SQ FT suite with a seperated twin doored room for the kids and a luxrious king size bed for the adults. There is also an entry way with living room seating and TV. The sweetest part is this suite is overlooking Carlsbad Flower Fields. Try to visit in the spring time to see the flowers in full bloom.

Nothing like a quiet morning sunrise!

Two pools are available both a lap pool with jacuzzi known as the “Quiet Pool” (open till 10 PM) as well as the family pool (open until 9 PM) where the kiddos are able to make a splash! While it may be winter The Cassara does it right by keeping both pools heated at 82 degrees through out the entire year.

We enjoyed the Cassara Kitchen and Bar so conveniently located in the hotel lobby, they served up delicious french toast for breakfast and in the night the margaritas were a hit!

One of our favorite amenities was the outdoor fire pits it was so nice spending time with the family around the fire. The kids really enjoyed purchasing the smore kits (they’re available for only $2 a kit) totally worth it!

Another great amenity was the kids arcade, all our favorite arcade games. Kept my boys busy for hours and it’s conveniently located next to the pool!

Vacation doesn’t have to be on the other side of the world when you live in Southern California there are endless possibilities to travel as a family.
